An important part of our school are the many unique activities outside of the classroom. Here are some of our students having fun and learning outside.

Discovery Camp has 4 acres of outside play areas. Two in-ground swimming pools, five age units, playgrounds with a variety of surfaces, and a large athletic field perfect for kickball, soccer, or capture the flag. We only use building if it rains. Then we get the game rooms, tech rooms, gym and decks.

In March, we participate in a pond study right in our own backyard! Click here to see pictures and learn more.

We have four goats, three llamas, two labs, and a handful of rabbits which the children are encouraged to feed, groom and take for walks.  We also belong to the 4-H club which offers children the knowledge behind the animal care.

In April, the families learn about composting.  They use this knowledge to start a garden at Discovery in which they help weed the soil, plant the flowers and vegetables, water and watch their hard work blossom!
